Where's Ward 2?
Ward 2 reaches from Long Branch Creek, south across Sligo Creek, to Woodland Ave and Dorothy’s Woods, and from New Hampshire Ave to, or near to, Carroll, and Jackson Ave. Use this interactive map to check which ward you are in. Most of Ward 2 was formerly in Prince Georges County, before a mid-1990s referendum to join Montgomery County.

Ward boundaries shifted slightly, every 10 years, when the City balances ward populations using new information based on the 2020 US Census. Manor Circle apartments and condominiums are now in ward 3, not 2. East of New Hampshire, from East West Highway north to (but not including) Hillwood Manor is now in ward 2, not 6. Woodland Ave is now in ward 3.

Who Lives in Ward 2?

Ward 2 has about 3,000 residents--over 40% of color (African American, African, Hispanic, Asian and mixed race).

Ward 2 residents, like the rest of the city, are both renters and homeowners. About 2/3 are homeowners, while it's about half for the city overall.  Rentals range from duplexes and 4-plexes that look like single family homes to multi-unit apartment buildings such as Aspen Court and Adams Court. There's condominiums on Flower Ave and town homes on Ethan Allen Ave.
